Things went electric in the House of Strombo this past Sunday nightwith Toronto noisemakers Dilly Dally.
The band arguably crafted the best rock record of 2015. Founded by Katie Monks and Liz Ball in high school — bonding over the music of the Pixies and the sorrow of Kurt Cobain — they’ve earned immediate acclaim from the blogosphere for both their heavily melodic debut album, Sore, and their high-octane live performances.
In the House, Dilly Dally cranked several tracks from that album and covered Drake’s “Know Yourself” in our loudest, sweatiest session yet. Toronto councillor and 6 dad Norm Kelly nodded with approval as they tore through their raging Drizzy rendition.
For further musical exploration with George Stroumboulopoulos, tune in to The Strombo Show every Sunday night on CBC Radio 2 or CBC Music from 8 to 11 p.m. for three hours of uninterrupted music for music lovers.
